中華民國退休基金協會於1999年6月29日成立，會員包括臺灣三大退休基金(勞工退休基金、勞工保險基金、公務人員退撫基金)、政府相關單位、學者專家、投信投顧業者、國內外資產管理公司、民間保險業者，以及台灣投信投顧公會。本協會主要任務為促進退休制度與基金管理發展，提供退休制度管理意見，增進退休金相關學術研究，鼓勵退休基金管理經驗交流，並舉辦學術研討會及國際交流活動，加強產官學界溝通合作，以健全退休制度規劃，與提升退休基金管理能力。本協會設有三個委員會(公關及活動委員會、研究發展委員會、退休投資教育推廣委員會)，推動協會各項業務。
